Feeding Your Cat
To ensure your cat stays healthy and active, feeding them regularly is essential. This system tracks hunger and helps maintain a realistic roleplay environment. Follow these guidelines to keep your cat well-fed and engaged in clan life.
How Feeding Works
Feeding Frequency: Cats need to be fed every 14 days.
Updating the Prey Tracker: After feeding your cat, go to your clan’s Prey Tracker and subtract the appropriate amount of prey to reflect the meal. This keeps the fresh-kill pile updated.
Hunger Meter: Feeding your cat keeps their hunger meter up. If your cat goes 14 days without eating, you will be notified.
Missed Feedings
If you don’t feed your cat within Ten day after being notified, your cat will be archived.
Exceptions: Archiving will not apply during clan emergencies, such as when the fresh-kill pile is too low to support the clan.
Roleplay Requirement
Every feeding requires a small RP post, which can be preformatted for convenience.
Example Post: Fadedlily padded towards the fresh-kill pile, her belly rumbled with hunger. She eyeballed a particularly juicy piece of prey, picked it from the pile, and retreated to her favorite spot out of the way to enjoy her meal.
Why Feeding Matters
Maintains Realism: Reflects the constant need to hunt and feed in clan life.
Encourages Engagement: Regular feeding ensures consistent roleplay activity.
Promotes Collaboration: Encourages all members to monitor the fresh-kill pile and contribute to hunting efforts.
Hunting and Prey Trackers
Hunting is an essential part of clan life in Echoes in the Maples, ensuring the fresh-kill pile stays stocked and all members remain well-fed. Proper tracking and management of prey are crucial for the clan’s survival and overall health.
Logging Prey in the Tracker
Roleplay Completion: After completing a hunting roleplay, you must log the prey you’ve caught in the prey tracker.
Unrecorded Prey: Any prey not logged in the tracker will not count towards the clan’s food supply, so be sure to update the tracker promptly.
Fresh-Kill Maintenance: The fresh-kill pile is automatically cleared out every week, and prey older than 14 days will be removed.
Monitoring the Fresh-Kill Pile
Deputy's Role:
Deputies are responsible for keeping a close eye on the fresh-kill pile and ensuring it meets the clan’s needs.
They will organize hunting patrols when the pile drops below safe levels.
Clan-Wide Effort:
Although deputies oversee the pile, all members are encouraged to contribute to hunting and prey tracking to support the clan’s wellbeing.
Regularly check the fresh-kill pile levels to determine if additional hunting is necessary.
Consequences of Neglect
If the fresh-kill pile is not properly maintained, the clan faces significant risks, including:
Starvation: Lack of food will lead to hunger, illness, and reduced energy for all members.
Weakened Abilities: Starved cats will have diminished health, making it harder to perform critical tasks like hunting, patrolling, and defending the clan.
By staying active in hunting and diligently logging prey, you help ensure your clan thrives and avoids the dangers of starvation. Every contribution, big or small, plays a vital role in the success and survival of your clan!
