Inactivity and Archiving

Inactivity is a normal part of any casual roleplay, and Echoes in the Maples strives to provide a relaxed, stress-free experience for all players. To accommodate real-life responsibilities, we take a flexible and understanding approach to inactivity, ensuring it doesn’t lead to unnecessary consequences for your characters.

Inactive Characters

  • No Automatic Deaths: Inactive characters will not be killed off. We understand that life can get busy, and your characters will remain safe until you're ready to return.

  • Extended Inactivity: If you anticipate being away for an extended period, please notify the staff. Together, we can:

    • Plan a storyline or temporary absence for your character.

    • Seamlessly reintegrate them into the roleplay when you’re ready to return.

Hunger and Archiving

  • Hunger Tracking: The easiest way to track inactivity is through your character’s hunger meter.

    • If your character isn’t fed within 15 days, they will be archived.

    • Archiving helps keep the character list organized but doesn’t affect their roleplay status.

  • Unarchiving Your Character: You’re free to unarchive your character at any time by submitting a Character Submit Ticket.

  • Leaving the Server:

    • If you leave the server without notice, your characters will be automatically archived.

    • After an extended period, archived characters may be deleted if left inactive.

Character Fate Options

If you wish to make decisions about your character’s future, you have several options:

  1. Killing:

    • Your character will die and join the afterlife of your choosing (e.g., StarClan, Dark Forest, or other).

    • Death doesn’t mean the end—you can still roleplay as your character in the afterlife.

  2. Wiping:

    • Your character will be completely erased from the server, with no information saved.

    • Once wiped, they cannot be revived.

  3. Archiving:

    • Your character will be removed from the Masterlist and Clan Allegiances, but all their information will be retained.

    • You can unarchive them anytime by submitting a ticket.

Voluntary Wipes and Archiving

  • If you decide you no longer want to continue with a character, you may choose to wipe or archive them at any time through a Character Submit Ticket.

  • For creative storytelling purposes, some server events will also include sign-ups where your character could be hurt or killed.

Afterlife Roleplay

Even if your character dies, their story doesn’t have to end. You’re welcome to roleplay with your characters in the afterlife, adding depth and continuity to their journey.

This system allows for flexibility while maintaining organization and creativity. If you have any questions about inactivity, archiving, or character fate options, feel free to reach out to staff for assistance!
