In our server, we use prompts to enhance the roleplay experience by giving your cat unique challenges and situations to navigate. Prompts are designed to allow players to enjoy roleplaying either solo or with others. Before you begin roleplaying, you are required to run a prompt.

How to Use the Prompt Command

To use a prompt, type /[clan][Role]  into the channel you are roleplaying in. This will generate a unique prompt for your character based on the clan they belong to. Be sure to use the correct command for your clan's specific prompts.

What to Expect When Using the Prompt Command

Once you open the prompt command, a menu will appear with options based on what your character is doing. After selecting the appropriate action, you will be given a written prompt along with a set of stats. These stats determine how your cat will respond to the situation based on their abilities.

Example:

Written Prompt: Your cat sees a squirrel digging up its winter food.

  • Hunting: 4

  • Combat: 5

  • Healing: 1

  • Charisma: 2

  • Wisdom: 4

  • Intelligence: 4

If your cat is hunting, you will focus on the Hunting stat. Let’s say your cat’s Hunting stat is also 5. You will determine the outcome by adding the prompt stat and your character’s stat:

  • [Prompt Stat] + [Character Stat] = Outcome

  • In this case, it’s 4 + 5 = 9. According to the outcome chart, this results in a medium outcome, meaning your cat catches the prey reasonably well.

For example, with a medium outcome, your character would catch 2 pieces of prey.

Will All Prompts Look Like the Hunting Prompt?

Most prompts follow this format, with the exception of:

  • Exploration prompts: These will not have rolls and only present the written prompt.

  • Healing, herb foraging, and combat prompts: These will have different stat rolls but still use the same system of adding stats to determine outcomes.

For more detailed information, you can refer to the Outcomes tab further below.

How Long Can I Use a Prompt in My Roleplay?

You can roleplay with the prompt for as long as you like, but if you switch to a new action, you will need to use a new prompt. Stat prompts are primarily used for situations that require rolls, such as combat, healing, or hunting.

Outcomes are determined by prompt stats & character stats. We use simple simple addition and avoid any dice rolls.

Stat categories are as follows!

Hunting

How well your cat Hunts

Combat

How well your cat Fights

Movement

How well your cat sneaks and moves

Medicine

 Medical knowledge (Treatment and herbal)

Charisma

How Friendly or charming your cat is

Wisdom

Experience, Knowledge, and Judgment of your cat

Intelligence

How smart your cat is

Outcomes are the category and number at the end of a prompt + Your characters stat in that category.

Prompts will be posted with all 7 Stat Categories You can choose which one that aligns more with how your character responds. Prompt stats can range randomly from 0 - 5.

0 being Difficult, and 5 being Easy.

Please note that Combat Rolls, MUST use combat stat and Hunting prompts MUST use hunting stat unless there is a concrete reaction that would involve another stat. You may not choose "Movement" Stat because it was higher to get a high roll for a hunting roll.

Combat has its own System. If your cat has a prompt using combat before entering a fight, it's used as a defense or sneak attack bonus.

Prompt Roll + Character Stat

Category

Outcome

Rolls of 1, 2, or 3

Miss

Your character fails the task.

Rolls of 4, 5, or 6

Bad

Your character performs poorly or faces challenges in completing the task.

Rolls of 7, 8, or 9

Medium

Your character accomplishes the task reasonably well, with some success but not flawlessly.

Roll of 10, 11, or 12

Good

Your character does the task perfectly, meeting or exceeding expectations.

Example

A vole is burrowing, creating soft noises under the leaf litter. Your cat must move silently, blending with the environment, to get close enough for a successful pounce. What techniques does your cat use to become nearly invisible and silent in the dense forest?
Hunting: 1
Combat: 4
Movement: 5
Healing: 3
Charisma: 5
Wisdom: 3
Intelligence: 4

Hunting 3 is your Prompt stat. Looking at your characters sheet, lets say their hunting stat was 4.

3 + 4 = 7 Using the following table, we can see that a 7 falls in the 'Medium' Outcome. You would then proceed with your roleplay using a 'Medium' Outcome.
